    • TITLES: Brenin of Brycheniog.
TITLES: Arglwydd of Cantref Selyf. (Evans, British Genealogist, book 4 p. D61)

PROPERTY: Lord of Canterselly. (Miscellanea Genealogica)
PROPERTY: Lord of Tal-y-llyn. (Evans, British Genealogist, book 1 p. 57)
PROPERTY: Lord of Cwmmwd. (Evans, British Genealogist, book 1 p. 37)
PROPERTY: Lord {arglwydd} of Cwmwd and Cantre-Seliff. (Bradney, History of Monmouthshire, vol. 1 p. 336)
RESIDENCE: Koed poeth {Coedpoeth}. (Williams, Llyfr Baglan, p. 72)

REMARKS: Some sources refer to him as King of Brenin. The term King can be misleading. In Wales till the middle of the 12th century individuals were styled 'Brenin' meaning chief or high one, and 'Arglwydd' meaning lord or master.

(Research) KINSHIP: Investigate> Dwnn's 'Heraldic Visitations of Wales' volume 1 page 190 footnote 6 calls him "Maenyrch ap Tryffin Varfog ap Hydd ap Gwyngudd ap Anarawd ap Tegyd ap Tehtwal ap Keindeg ap Kynfarch ap Hoiw ap Gloiw ap Kawrda ap Kradog vraichfraisg".
(Research) KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Williams' 'Llyfr Baglan' page 87 makes him the son of his grandfather Dryffin, thus omitting the generation of Maenyrch from the name string.
