      DEATH: He was slain by Morgan ab Owain, brother of Iorwerth ab Owain, lord {arglwydd} of Caerleon, by whom he was taken in ambush in 1135. The place of this ambush was Coed-dias ('the wood of revenge') on the estate of Ffwyddog in the ecclesiastical parish of Cwm-iou. (Bradney, History of Monmouthshire, vol. 1 p. 247)
