(Dwnn, Heraldic Visitations of Wales, vol. 1 p. xxvi,21) LIVING: 1330-1364. (Bartrum, Welsh Genealogies 300-1400, vol. 8 p. 616) RESIDENCE: Crosallgwn. (Bartrum, Welsh Genealogies 300-1400, vol. 8 p. 616) REMARKS: "Gruffudd Gethin was so called at home, but in England was called Gruffudd Dwnn." (Bartrum, Welsh Genealogies - Additions and Corrections 300-1400, 5th List, p. 31 Ll. ap G. 2 fn. 4) REMARKS: "We are told that Gruffydd Gethin was Gentleman Usher to King John; that he bore a strong bow in England and shot with a broad arrow, and that on the monarch observing him shoot he exclaimed 'Well done Gruffydd,' ever after which he was called Gruffydd Dwnn." (Dwnn, Heraldic Visitations of Wales, vol. 1 p. xxvi) (Research):KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Dwnn's 'Heraldic Visitations of Wales' volume 1 page 26 contains several error on the name string from here back. OFFICE: Conflict/Error> Evan's 'British Genealogist' book 1 page 259 calls him "Gentleman Usher to King John, 1199-1216.
