- LIVING: Died after 20 Mar 1475 when a document records an "Indult to have a portable altar". (Community Trees - Proposed Changes: Patron: Ian Meredith [Email address withheld for privacy]> Calendar of Papal Registers of Great Britain and Ireland, 1471-1484, editor J.A. Tramlow, vol. XIII ref 550)
BURIAL: Greyfriars' Monastery, Carmarthen (i.e. Caerfyrddin). (Community Trees - Proposed Changes: Patron: Ian Meredith [Email address withheld for privacy]> 'Medieval Churches of the Vale of Glamorgan' by Geoffrey Orrin, and 'Malenfant Families' by A.V. Mellefont (above transcribed on page 71) which also records on page 71 the Herald Vincent record of a coat of arms for Edmund on a tomb in the Greyfriars' Monastery, Carmarthen)
- (Research):KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Evans' 'British Genealogist' book 8 page H42 gives the wrong pedigree from this Edmund to Walter (who married Alice [de la Roche]. It gives Edmund son of "Sir Thos Malifant Knt" son of "Wm Malifant md Mary d. to John Sherborn, lord of Nangle" son of Walter Malifant Esq. md Isabel d. and h. of John de Londres" son of Walter Malifant, Esq." son of Sir William Malifant, knt Lord of Upton in Com: Pembr. md Alice d. to Sir John de la Roche".
KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> "Some sources give an alternative mother for Edmund (I9207) in Elizabeth Fleming, daughter of David, Baron of Slane, in Ireland (d 30 Mar 1463). Lewys Dwnn has Henry (I9796) as marrying her, but, if correct, this must be an earlier generation." (Community Trees - Proposed Changes: Patron: Ian Meredith [Email address withheld for privacy])
MARRIAGE: Conflict/Error> Thomas' 'Golden Grove MS' book 7 page D885 shows "[NN] m. Sr Edmond Malephant Kt (as RV), 2d Morgan Read (cm 6)". The marriage of Edmund and [Alice] ferch Morgan seems an impossibly as they are half brother and sister. This is the only source which shows this marriage.
