• Notes

  The 1860 Federal Census record for Solon, Somerset, Maine does not have any children listed for Westley and Rosannah which seems to be confirmed by the 1880 Federal Census record for District 176, Shetek, Murray, Minnesota where he is listed as adopted son. Apparently John Wesley was born John Bropy, but his mother died when he was young and his father, William Bropy of Maine had the gold fever and moved to California when John was 5 years old. In 1865 the Averills, Lufkins and Manchesters traveled to Dover, Eyota (deleware?) then Kansas and finally Shetek township around 1873. There is further evidence based on a typed note from Florence Averill McHugh which was copied in JPG format from ancestry.com.
