In 1900, Austin, age 36, was living in LaCrosse, Wisconsin with wife Edith, 34, son Earl, 11 and Daughter Hazel, age 9. Also living with the family was Edith's sister, Bertha Halter, age 22. in 1905, Austin, 41, was living in LaCrosse with wife Edith, 38, Earl W., 19, Hazel K., 14 and Austin's father, Crawford, age 75, is living with them. He died August 31, 1906 in Waukesha.
