- William had a seat in the New Haven church by Feb. 1661/2 Edward E. Atwater History of the Colony of New Haven. New Haven; Atwater, 1881, 551. Inventory taken Oct. 26, 1684 by Moses Mansfield and John Alling. 360 pounds, 12 shillings, 3 pence. AAt the court held June 10, 1685 adjustment was made of estate among widow and children: 4 sons, William, Jeremiah, Nathaniel and Benjamin, 1 son being blind, and 3 daughters, Mary, Abigail and Sarah. NEGH Record 8:1(1850):135. Sarah: Jacobus says she may be the daughter of James and Ann (widow of John Wakefield). (See below: James other wives.)If so she was the fourth of their six children.
