  Lydia Anna Marie, daughter of Wilhelm and Marie (Rothschild) Becker, was born October 3, 1910 at Clarksville, Iowa. She wa baptized and confirmed at Waverly and also graduated from Waverly High School with the class of 1929. On June 3, 1935, she was united in marriage with Sam Johnson at St. John Lutheran Church Parsonage. The couple made their home in Sumner their entire married lives. Lydia assisted her husband in his business, Sumner Plumbing and Heating for a number of years. She had been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner where she was active with Dorcas Circle. In addition to her husband, Sam, who resides at the Hillcrest Home, she is survived by one son, two daughters, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one brother. She was preceeded in death by her parents; four brothers, Theodore, Elmer, Ruloff, and Otto Becker; and two sisters, Elsie Busching and Gesina Nuhring.
